This paper presents a model predictive thrust force control (MPTFC) method for multiple-modular permanent magnet synchronous linear motor (PMSLM). It focuses on the assignment and ripple of drive system with multiple-branch inverter. A discrete time PMSLM is established, driving structure operation principle are studied. multi-mode cost function designed according to requirements different load conditions, optimal voltage vector action determined. The mode analyzed determine distribution factor, so as reduce pulsation during improve performance system. results indicate that proposed MPTFC effective in operating modes, has high efficiency safer compared conventional
